Your strengths arealready in you.We help you find them.

The way you think, build, connect, and solve problems is yours alone, and most people have never once seen it laid out clearly. MIA is an AI guide from a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, built to help you see what you are working with and every path where it leads.

No account needed to look around No ads, ever Nothing about you is for sale
The next part
Finding your strengths is the beginning.
Putting them to work is the goal.

MIA walks with you through both: understanding what is already in you, then turning it into real steps toward the future you want.

Put your Passions into Action
How it works

Three steps, and one thing that never happens.

Discover

MIA asks how you actually think and work, across all nine intelligences. Not a test. No wrong answers, and no score at the end.

Explore

You see real paths that fit your particular mix. College, trades, apprenticeships, certifications, and work, shown as equals because the framework says they are.

Plan

You get concrete next steps for whichever path you want to look at, with real programs, real timelines, and real costs.

And it never decides for you.

MIA shows you what exists and what it leads to. Choosing is yours, every single time. It does not rank you, score you, or tell you what you should be.

See the whole thing for yourself.

Walk through all eight steps yourself. It takes about three minutes and you drive every choice.

What this is built on

The question was always the wrong one.

Almost every career tool starts by asking what you are interested in, or how you score. MIA starts somewhere else entirely, and everything about it follows from that one change.

What school mostly asked
How smart are you?
What MIA asks
How are you smart?

In 1983, the Harvard psychologist Howard Gardner argued that intelligence is not one thing that can be ranked on a single line. It is several distinct capacities, and every person carries a different mix of them.

Daniel Goleman later made the same case for emotional intelligence: how you handle yourself, and how you handle other people, is its own real capability rather than a soft extra.

MIA is built on both. Not as a theme, as the actual architecture.

The mix everyone carries
Verbal-LinguisticWords, language, expression
Logical-MathematicalPatterns, systems, reasoning
Visual-SpatialSeeing how things fit together
Bodily-KinestheticThinking through the hands
Musical-RhythmicRhythm, sound, timing
InterpersonalReading and moving people
IntrapersonalKnowing your own workings
NaturalisticEnvironments and living systems
ExistentialMeaning, purpose, the big questions

Nobody is only one of these, and no one of them is worth more than another. Your mix is the thing that is yours.

This is why we can say the trades are equal and actually mean it.

If intelligence is a single number, then the trades are what you do when your number is lower. That assumption has shaped American schools for a century, and most people absorbed it without ever being told it out loud.

If intelligence is plural, the whole thing collapses. Someone who thinks with their hands and sees in three dimensions is not less intelligent than someone who thinks in words. They are differently intelligent, and the work that suits them is not a lesser path. It is a different one.

So when MIA shows four routes at the same size, that is not a nice gesture. It is what the framework requires.

Try it yourself

The most important thing about MIA is something it cannot do.

If you want to reach out to a program or an employer, MIA can help you write it. It cannot send it. That is not a policy we promise to follow. There is no send function in the system. Go ahead and try.

Press the button.
MIA cannot do that.

There is no send function in this system. Nothing here can transmit a message, contact an employer, or reach out to anyone on your behalf. The draft is yours. Pressing send is something only you can physically do.

Every person has an edge.

We help them find it.

Our promises

We asked what could
go wrong for you.
Then we built the answers in.

Before anything here was designed, someone sat with the question of how it could hurt, pressure, or expose the person using it. Every control on this page is an answer to that question, written in plain language you can read in one sitting.

Try it yourself

Two separate questions, two separate answers.

What MIA can see and what MIA can do are not the same question, so we never ask them as one. Flip anything below and watch what happens.

Live demonstration This is the real control panel, not a picture of one

What MIA can see

Information you have given it
Your assessment answers
How you answered the questions about the way you think and work.
Turning this off also stops pathway suggestions, because they are built entirely from these answers. We are telling you now instead of letting you find out later.
Your saved pathways
The paths you marked to come back to.
Your draft messages
Anything you wrote with MIA's help but have not sent.
Turning this off also stops MIA from helping you write outreach, because it will no longer be able to see what you were working on.

What MIA can do

Actions it is allowed to take
Suggest pathways to you
Show you paths that fit how you work.
Help you draft outreach
Write a first version in your words. It still cannot send it.
Show programs near you
Find real programs in your area.
If you are under 18 The strictest protections turn on automatically and nobody can loosen them. Not you, not a school, not us.
You can ask this at any time, and it has to answer.
Your activity record
TodayYou turned off "Your draft messages." Outreach drafting stopped at the same moment.
TodayMIA read your assessment answers to suggest three pathways.
Mar 4You saved two pathways: Electrical apprenticeship, Biomedical equipment technician.
Mar 4You completed the strengths questions. Nothing was shared with anyone.
Mar 2Account created. No school, employer, or third party was notified.
In plain words

Six of the answers we built in.

Each one is built into how the system works, not written into a policy.

Turn something off and it stops. Right then.

Not at the end of the session. Not tomorrow. Immediately, even if MIA is in the middle of something.

Every switch tells you what changes before you flip it.

In a sentence a person can actually read. And if turning one thing off breaks another thing, we tell you that up front instead of letting you discover it later.

You can ask what MIA knows about you, any time.

What it has seen, what it has done, and when. It has to answer, and the record is yours to read.

MIA cannot contact anyone for you.

It can help you write something. It cannot send it, and it cannot reach out to a school, a program, or an employer on your behalf. Only you can do that.

If you are under 18, the strictest settings are already on.

And nobody can loosen them. Not you, not a school, not us. If you want to send outreach, an adult you choose is in the loop before anything leaves.

Nothing you tell MIA is sold, rented, or shared.

Not to schools, not to employers, not to advertisers, not to anyone. There is no version of this where your information becomes somebody's product.

Where AI is used here, and where it is not

MIA is an AI system. We are not going to be coy about that, and we are not going to dress it up in language that hides it.

AI reads your answers and suggests paths that fit how you work.
AI helps you write a first draft when you ask for one.
AI does not decide anything about you, screen you, score you, or rank you against anyone.
There is no chatbot waiting on this website. If you want to talk to MIA, you go and open it. It does not come find you.
Why we exist

Four things went wrong
at the same time.

None of these is anyone's personal failure, and none of them is confined to one age group. Together they describe a country where finding your footing has quietly become a private problem you are expected to solve alone, at seventeen and at forty seven.

372 to 1
Students for every school counselor in America. In elementary and middle schools it runs between 571 and 694.
American School Counselor Association, 2024 to 2025 data. Recommended ratio is 250 to 1.
42%
Recent college graduates working in jobs that do not require a degree. The highest rate since 2020.
Federal Reserve Bank of New York, second quarter 2026. Unemployment for recent graduates sits at 5.6 percent, above the national average.
43.1 million
Americans who started college and left without a credential. Most of them are working age.
National Student Clearinghouse Research Center with Lumina Foundation, 2025. Roughly 2.6 percent re-enroll in a given year.
600k vs 150k
Skilled trades jobs posted last year, against the number of new workers who entered through apprenticeships.
JLL research citing U.S. Department of Education estimates, 2026. For every five trades workers who retire, two replace them.
What we did about it

Nobody is coming to fix this at scale.

The counselors still in the building are doing everything they can with caseloads no person could reasonably carry. The federal programs that reached the rest are being cut, not expanded.

And it is not solved by getting to college. Only one in five students at public universities say they ever received high-quality career coaching, and nearly four in ten never set foot in the career office at all.

Hiring enough people to close a 372 to 1 gap would take a generation and a budget that does not exist. Waiting for that is not a plan. It is just a slower way of telling a seventeen year old to figure it out alone.

So we built something that is open to anyone, needs no appointment, and does not run out of hours in the day.

Not a replacement for a good counselor. A floor under the people who are never going to get one.

See for yourself

Everything here is open for you to walk through.

Three doors, about five minutes altogether. Start with whichever one matters most to you.

How MIA works

Rather than describe it,
here is the whole thing.

Eight steps, start to finish, exactly as a person moves through them. Click through at your own pace. Under each screen we say what that step is quietly proving, because the point is not that it looks nice.

Everything you are about to see rests on one idea: intelligence is not a single number. It is a mix, and yours is different from everyone else's. Watch for it at step 3, and then watch what it does to step 5.

Safe Mode is on.You told MIA you are under 18, so the strictest protections switched on automatically and stay on for the rest of this walkthrough.
Welcome and consentStep 1 of 8

Before anything else, how old are you?

This is the first question MIA asks, before a single answer is collected. What you pick changes what the system is allowed to do for the rest of the visit. Try it both ways.

Pick one. This one actually branches.
I am under 18
I am 18 or older
What this shows: age is not a checkbox buried in settings. It is the gate, and it comes first.
Question 1 of 24No timer. Stop any time.

When you are figuring something out, what do you reach for first?

There are no wrong answers here, and nothing you pick is better than anything else.

I talk it through with somebody
I take it apart and see how it works
I sketch it or map it out
I look for the pattern or the rule

You have a free Saturday and no plans. What sounds best?

Still no wrong answers. Pick whatever is actually true.

Fixing or building something
Being around people
Getting outside and moving
Going deep on something that interests me

When somebody explains something new, what helps most?

Last one in this preview. The real EdgeFinder runs 24.

Show me a diagram
Let me try it myself
Walk me through the steps out loud
Tell me why it works that way
That is enough to show the pattern. In the real EdgeFinder you would answer 24 of these, and you could stop at any point and come back later without losing anything. Move to the next step to see what it builds.
What this shows: no score, no timer, no right answer. This is a self-description tool, not a test.

This is how you work.

Not how you rank. Nobody is being compared to anybody, and there is no number at the end that says how good you are.

Bodily-KinestheticStrong
Visual-SpatialStrong
Logical-MathematicalPresent

You think with your hands and you think in space. You understand things by building them and by seeing how the pieces sit together. You are comfortable with systems that have rules, as long as you can see the rules working.

What this shows: it describes you, it does not rate you. There is no percentile anywhere on this screen.

Here is what is actually happening in that work.

Real numbers, and every one of them shows where it came from.

81,000
Electrician openings projected per year through 2034
Bureau of Labor Statistics
$62,350
Median annual wage, all electricians
Bureau of Labor Statistics
9.5%
Projected growth through 2034, against 3.1% for all occupations
Bureau of Labor Statistics
Market data describes direction, not destiny. It tells you where the work is going. It does not predict what will happen to you.
What this shows: sourced numbers with visible attribution, and an honest limit stated out loud rather than buried.

Four ways in. All four shown the same.

Same size, same weight, same detail. No default, no recommended badge, no consolation prize.

Click any of the four. They all open the same way.
Apprenticeship

Paid from day one. Classroom plus on the job hours.

4 to 5 years · No tuition debt
Earn while you train. Local programs typically open applications once a year. Wages step up as you complete hour milestones. You finish with a credential and no student debt.
Two year degree

Associate degree with a technical focus.

2 years · Transfer possible
Community college technical track. Credits often transfer to a four year program later if you want that. Many students work part time in the field while enrolled.
Four year degree

Bachelor's in a related engineering field.

4 years · Broader entry range
Opens design and engineering roles alongside field work. Higher cost and longer runway. Worth it if you want the option to move into systems design later.
Work plus certification

Start working, add credentials as you go.

Ongoing · Earn while you learn
Enter as a helper and stack certifications over time. Slowest to a license but the fastest to a paycheck, and employers frequently cover the coursework.
Every path here gets the same amount of the screen, and every one opens the same amount of detail. That is a design decision, and it is deliberate.
What this shows: the equal-paths principle made visual. Trades are never framed as what you do if college does not work out.

A real opening, and a door already prepared.

MIA finds openings that are current, confirms the contact is real and already public, and writes you a first draft in your own words.

Your draft is written and waiting. Try sending it.
MIA cannot send this.

The draft is written and ready. It sits in your hands, not ours. Pressing send is something only you can physically do, and there is no function in this system that could do it for you.

What this shows: the prepared door. MIA does the hard part, which is knowing what to say. You keep the part that matters, which is deciding to say it.

A portfolio built only out of things you actually did.

MIA helps you find the words. It will not invent the experience.

Residential rewiring, weekendsFrom your answers

Two years assisting on residential electrical work. Panel replacements, circuit tracing, fixture installation. Comfortable reading a basic wiring diagram.

Now try asking it to add something you never told it.
MIA will not add that.

Nothing you told MIA describes commercial work, so it will not be written in. If you have done it, tell MIA about it and it goes in. If you have not, it stays out. A tool that will lie for you will eventually lie about you.

What this shows: the anti-fabrication guardrail firing in the open, on demand.

Where you are, whenever you come back.

There is no streak here. Nothing is lost by leaving and nothing is gained by showing up daily.

Our story

This method has
fifteen years behind it.

MIA is new. What MIA does is not. The approach was built and tested in classrooms and community programs starting in 2011, long before any of this could be delivered by software.

Put your Passions into Action
What we measured

The number we are proudest of has nothing to do with jobs.

20%+
Average improvement in self-esteem across more than 1,000 people, measured with Department of Health and Human Services survey instruments.

Not just high schoolers. College students, working professionals, and executives.

Not placement rates. Not test scores. How they felt about themselves.

That is the thing that has to move first, and it is notoriously hard to measure at all. It is also the one thing almost everyone wants for themselves regardless of age, which is why the same approach held up across a sixteen year old and a senior executive.

We cannot show you the individual results. Everyone who took those surveys did so in confidence, and many of them were minors at the time. We do not put that on the internet. Not then, and not now. The aggregate is the part that belongs to everyone.
The endorsement
"Thank you very much for sending me your clever book on the MI9 Team. I'm glad to see your unusual approach to MI ideas."
Dr. Howard Gardner, the Harvard psychologist who originated the theory of Multiple Intelligences

Multiple Intelligences is not our idea. It is Howard Gardner's, developed at Harvard and first published in 1983. What our co-founder built was a way to put it in front of real people and have it actually change something for them.

Gardner endorsed that work personally. He later published her as a guest contributor on his own site.

2011. The predecessor program begins working with students directly.
2012 to 2013. First major academic endorsements. The organization earns endorsements from leading academics: Allan Luks (Founding Director, Fordham Center for Nonprofit Leadership) and Dr. Stephen G. Post (Stony Brook University).
2016. Our co-founder publishes a best-selling book on Multiple Intelligences. Dr. Howard Gardner of Harvard, who originated the framework, endorses the work personally, in a letter, a public statement, and a blurb for the book.
Published by Gardner. She later wrote as a guest contributor on Howard Gardner's own site. Using Multiple Intelligences Theory to Understand Your "Superpowers"
2019. More than 1,000 people served, spanning high school and college students, working professionals, and executives, with an average self-esteem gain of roughly 20 percent and higher measured on Department of Health and Human Services survey instruments.
2026. Akamai Innovations, an IRS Approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, introduces MIA: an AI guide that assists people in finding their strengths and seeing every path forward.
